United Hairdressers Association gets support from Professor Kalamonia

The leadership of Savannah United Hairdressers Association has received assistance from the Savannah Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana aka Professor Kalamonia when they paid a courtesy call on him at his resident. The women expressed their joy and happiness at Chairman Kalamonia's warm reception and presented him with a letter asking for his support in expanding the association's activities, as well as inviting him to their inauguration ceremony. Prof Kalamonia praised the women's efforts and pledged his support for the organization's growth. He contributed GHc 1,000 to the association to help them carry out their activities. CHAIRMAN KALAMONIA DONATES TO SAVANNAH REGIONAL ISLAMIC COUNCIL UNIT

The Savannah Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana affectionately called Prof Kalamonia has made a donation of items to the SAVANNAH REGIONAL ISLAMIC COUNCIL UNIT. The revered chairman met with the COUNCIL UNIT at his residence on Saturday, January 29, 2020 in Damongo. All the leadership of the seven constituencies including their regional executives were present at the visit. They discussed issues pertaining to the growth of the Islamic religion in the region and how stakeholders can help in making the Islamic Council a well structured and recognized institution in the region. Mr Issah Mohammed, the Savannah Regional Director of Communications of the NPP, has charged media practitioners in the region with promoting the infant region positively to attract investors. According to the maveric communicator, the sort of stories authored about the region can influence how people perceive it. He urged the media to stop publishing bad reports and instead focus on positive stories that will lift and encourage investment to the region. Aid me in developing small-scale mining—Abu Jinapor to the chiefs and people of Bole

Samuel Abu Jinapor, the minister for lands and natural resources, is urging the chiefs and people of the Bole Traditional Area to assist his ministry in developing the country's small scale mining sector. According to the Damongo MP, who is on a five-day working visit to the country's five northern regions, the current regime is not against small-scale mining in the country, but it is against irresponsible mining that degrades the environment. The Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency and Deputy Majority Speaker, Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin has donated to TESCON UEW Scholarship Scheme in his bid to offset the burden on some students of the Association. Earlier this semester, the Leadership of TESCON UEW, rolled out a policy to help it's members, who for various reasons could not pay their school fees. A window of opportunity was created to all members especially, continuing students to apply and at the end of the application process, more than 200 applications were received out of which 112 members were shortlisted and 61 members out of the shortlisted number had their fees paid in part.
