S/R: Negative reporting can turn off investors; let us be positive–NPP Regional Director of Communication charges media practitioners.

Mr Issah Mohammed, the Savannah Regional Director of Communications of the NPP, has charged media practitioners in the region with promoting the infant region positively to attract investors. According to the maveric communicator, the sort of stories authored about the region can influence how people perceive it.
He urged the media to stop publishing bad reports and instead focus on positive stories that will lift and encourage investment to the region. Director Issah stated during a media tour in the region that "if on a daily basis the stories we ourselves are publishing out of here to the rest of the country and the world at large are gory stories; stories of insecurity; stories of inability to do anything positive in these areas, if these are the kind of stories we are telling, we will not be complimenting the efforts at attracting investments into these areas."
Mr. Issah stated that the government and other power structures have been working hard to attract investors to the region's endowed sectors. While admitting the role of the media in holding elected officials accountable and criticizing social ills, he urged them to also "promote our society so that the true potentials of the Savannah region can be realized."

IN A POLITICAL SPHERE FULL OF UNCERTAINTIES: THE ONLY SURE THING IS “ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE INTENTIONS...By  YAKUBU HUSEIN PUMAYA YAKUBU HUSEIN PUMAYA As a fresher, I got attracted to any aspirant who was bold enough to speak to me. In my mind, the best form of bravery was the ability to speak to strangers; that was what I considered to be the hallmark of a true leader. If more than one aspirant spoke to me, I considered the one who was more fluent to be the best candidate. In effect, my opinion of whom a good leader is, was based on his/her ability to speak good English.  When I was a fresher, I remember telling one of my seniors that I thought a particular candidate was going to win. He asked me why, and I answered proudly, “because he was the first to come to my class and he spoke perfect English”. He laughed at me and said, “Small boys are young”.  After 3 years on campus, it has become clear that I was indeed small and young. I have learnt that ...
