Bawumia cannot be elected president on the NPP-Nyako-Tamakloe ticket.

Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a pioneering member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has questioned the prospect of the Vice President leading the party in the 2024 election. Given the structure of the ruling party, he believes Dr. Bawumia's chances of becoming flagbearer and, eventually, President are slim, e said. "I gave an interview to a foreign magazine in which I stated unequivocally that Bawumia cannot come to power under the structure of our party." "Bawumia is a fine gentleman," he said in an interview with TV3. "If Bawumia had that independent mind and strength and not just always praise what the president has done or has not done, I would have looked at him differently; I know Bawumia very well."
